Author Guidelines
I. What can be submitted to Inquiry?

Independent Research Projects:
Projects conducted independently or as part of a larger research endeavor, where the student has contributed significantly and independently to a portion of the work. -
Course Papers with Original Research:
Submissions that emphasize original research, even if initially created for class assignments. -
Creative Projects:
Research-based creative projects, such as performances, media productions, or visual works that incorporate scholarly analysis. -
Collaborative Research:
Group projects are welcome as long as all contributors are properly credited, with one undergraduate student designated as the primary author.
II. Who can submit?

Current undergraduate students from any university from any major or discipline.

Recent graduates (within one year of graduation) are also eligible to submit work.
III. How to Submit

Review the Guidelines:
Carefully review the Inquiry Author Guidelines before submitting your work. -
Submission Platform:
Submissions should be sent via the Google Form. Please include all required documents as outlined below. -
Required Documents:

Main Manuscript: Include a cover sheet (see below), abstract, and main content as a Word document (.doc or .docx).

Supplementary Files: Figures, tables, graphs, or creative work must be submitted as a separate Word or image file (JPEG, PNG, etc.) with proper numbering and captions.

Author Agreement Form: Completed and signed by the primary author and any co-authors, acknowledging originality and adherence to ethical guidelines.

You will receive a confirmation email upon successful submission. If you do not receive this email within 48 hours, contact us at inqur.org@gmail.com.
IV. Formatting Guidelines

Research advisor’s name, department, and email (if applicable)

Abstract:

Maximum of 400 words
-
Summarize the research purpose, methodology, and findings

Manuscript Formatting:

Length: 6–35 pages, double-spaced (not including references or supplementary materials)
-
Margins: 1” on all sides
-
Font: 12-point Times New Roman or similar
-
Page Numbers: Include at the bottom-right corner of each page
-

Creative Work:
-
For non-text submissions, include a descriptive statement (1–2 pages) detailing the project’s research context and significance.

Visual or multimedia work must meet quality standards and be formatted according to submission platform requirements.

Figures and Tables:
-
Submit all figures, tables, and graphs as separate supplementary files.
-
Number figures in the order they appear in the manuscript and include captions.

Citations:

Use the citation style standard in your discipline (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago).

All citations must be consistent and include a works cited or bibliography page.

V. Ethical Guidelines

All submissions involving human subjects must comply with Tufts University’s research ethics standards.
-
Papers involving human-subject research should be submitted with an approval letter from the Tufts IRB. Papers involving human-subject research not approved by Tufts IRB cannot be published.

Authors are responsible for ensuring originality and proper citation to avoid plagiarism.
